Notes on this view:

This postcard depicts a reproduction of a painting. Notice the perforated left-hand edge, which indicates that this example was removed from a book of postcards. Phototypie (French) and lichtdruck (German) are common synonyms for the process. Soft tonal transitions and the warm image compliment the subject matter and soft colors of Corot's original painting. The collotype is printed with lithographic inks and is therefore very stable. Although the paper has yellowed slightly, the image remains in good condition. Color is dependent on the ink chosen and can vary greatly.
