Notes on this view:

This print was made in a Photo Booth in 1948. In the mid twentieth century, Photo Booths were found in a variety of places including, department stores, bus and train stations, fairgrounds, and amusement parks. There were also Photo Booth storefronts. Inside the booth was a stool and a choice of one or more backdrop curtains. The lighting was frontal with one light above and one below the sitter and the walls of the booth were typically painted white or had white curtains to reflect the light. The booth could have an operator to take and develop the print, or more commonly, were completely automatic, coin operated machines. Prints would come in a strip with four or eight images or in larger or smaller single print formats. Often an attendant would be present to offer the sale of decorative frames or mats and hand-coloring, as seen here.
