Kodachrome is a one-of-a-kind direct positive transparency film. It is composed of three emulsion layers on a clear plastic support. Each layer is dyed a subtractive color with cyan on the bottom, magenta in the middle and yellow as the top layer. The result is a positive image on a transparent support. It is intended to be viewed using transmitted light. Kodachrome, introduced in 1935, is the first commercially successful chromogenic color process
